The Tablet Lecture, 16 October 2024
On Wednesday 16 October, I have the honour of delivering the annual Tablet lecture at CCLA, One Angel Lane, London EC4R 3AB. Arrival is from 5.30 pm, with the lecture beginning at 6.00 pm, followed by drinks and snacks.
The title of the lecture is, Catholic Education in the 21st Century: Challenges and Opportunities. For me, this is a wonderful opportunity to reflect on a lifetime in Catholic schools, with more than twenty years in leadership in various roles, including headteacher and CEO of two multi academy trusts.
I’ll be giving a lot of thought to what to say, discerning not least how brave I want to be, dare I say out loud some of the things that are on my mind and in my heart? I’d also be delighted to hear from anybody who wants to contribute with their own views on the challenges and opportunities we face in Catholic education, with particular reference to our schools.
